Dr. Yvonne Mensah
Dr. Yvonne Mensah’s interest in chiropractic began as a young track and field athlete where she realized the importance of maintenance for maximized sports performance and injury prevention. Dr. Yvonne was an elite Track and Field athlete that competed for the University of Illinois on a full Athletic Scholarship. Following her collegiate career, Dr. Yvonne went on to become the Canadian 400m Hurdle champion in 2008, winning the 2008 Olympic Trials. Her career was cut short due to a knee injury, which is what ultimately led her to a Chiropractic career.
Dr. Yvonne’s passion for Chiropractic initially developed around understanding the role of the nervous system with regards to the biomechanics of the body. She spent a large part of her Chiropractic training working with young athletes at Vitality Sports Medicine in Dallas Texas performing chiropractic adjustments, rehabilitation and injury prevention. As her chiropractic career evolved, she began to devote her focus on complete family wellness and has been devoted to providing families a holistic approach to complete health and well-being. Dr. Yvonne treats everyone from new born babies to elderly patients, people looking to begin an active lifestyle to your weekend warrior. Dr. Yvonne is also trained in prenatal care and is Webster Certified through the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Yvonne’s main focus is geared around understanding the biomechanics of the body and what happens if these fundamental movement patterns are compromised. She utilizes chiropractic adjustments coupled with soft tissue techniques and core mobility and stability training. Dr. Yvonne is very dedicated to providing individuals the best opportunity to live longer, happy more active lives.
