Active Release

Active Release Technique or A.R.T. is a soft tissue therapy like no other.

It is a highly effective and very specific way of moving the muscles or soft tissues to remove scar tissue and tightness. Using A.R.T. in combination with chiropractic treatments gives the fastest and longest lasting results. By adjusting the involved joints and releasing the tension in surrounding muscles, the area will stay better aligned for longer and heal quicker, resulting in the need for less treatment compared to adjusting alone.

Most conditions respond well to A.R.T. but it is particularly successful for conditions that involve nerve entrapments or areas with tingling, numbness, burning or shooting pain. For example, rotator cuff issues, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatic/leg pain, plantar fasciitis, headaches, and many more.

Every A.R.T. treatment is both an evaluation and a treatment at the same time. The doctor uses their hands to feel the tightness, texture and movement of the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Precise pressure and movement is applied to release the problem area with lasting results. These treatments require a finesse that comes with experience.
