Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a system of medicine that was developed in China over 3000 years ago.

It is a combination of modalities such as acupuncture, electroacupuncture, herbal medicinals, cupping, moxibustion, acupressure, diet therapy, meditation and exercise. These therapies optimize the flow of Qi (vital energy) that is present in all living things. Disease manifests when obstructions to the flow of Qi occur. Acupuncture is about creating and improving circulation in specific areas to help the body repair and re-organize itself. It promotes balance and normalizes function in all of the organs and systems of our body, helping them to do what they are supposed to do. Today over 2 billion people worldwide use acupuncture either for primary or complementary health care.

According to the World Health Organization, acupuncture has been recognized as a safe and effective treatment for over 200 conditions. Several conditions are alleviated immediately by the administration of acupuncture and/or herbs; however chronic conditions usually involve ongoing treatment. Treatment duration lasts anywhere from weeks to months. Acupuncture has a cumulative effect with each treatment building on the changes of the previous session. Acupuncture enables the patient to become more self aware while improving quality of life.
